“What A Knock Shubman Gill”: Twitter reacts as GT’s star batsman smashes incredible ton against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 qualifier 2

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl against the Gujarat Titans (GT). Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha brought GT to a flyer as they scored 54 runs in the first 6 overs for the loss of no wicket. Shubman Gill was surprisingly a bit cautious in the opening overs and then unleashed an attack on the opposition.

In the seventh, veteran leg spinner Piyush Chawla took the key wicket of Wriddhiman Saha. B Sai Sudharsan was seen playing the role of the anchor and made sure that he did not face a series of point balls.

It seemed like Shubman was in beast mode, all the variations of Chawla & Kartikeya were proving ineffective. In the 12th, Shubman hit 3 sixes against speedster Akash Madhwal.

Shubman continued with his purple patch and decimated the bowlers and didn’t stop. Shubman scored 129 runs off 60 balls and hit 10 huge sixes and 7 sixes. The GT score on Shubman’s sacking was 192-2 in 16.5 overs and now MI will have to make sure they restrict GT below 220 which will give him some sort of belief that he can chase the target.
