WeTransfer down or not working, issue acknowledged but no ETA to fix

New updates are being added at the end of this story…….

The original story (published on April 25, 2022) is as follows:

WeTransfer, founded in 2009 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is an online file transfer service that allows people from all over the world to easily share files with each other.

In addition to the free service, there is also a premium subscription that offers more storage, an address book, and the ability to password-protect files.

The service saw rapid growth in its user base, with sales figures increasing by more than 26%, bringing the total number to $76 million. It was also preparing for an initial public offering with a valuation of around $1 billion.

Having said that, WeTransfer users are now saying that the service is down and not working at the moment. Many say they are having trouble trying to download or upload files.

Apparently some get ‘A low level unhandled error occurred. The application log may have details error every time they try to download any file. Switching browsers and clearing cookies and cache doesn’t help either.

Down detector, a popular service that provides live outage information, also had a couple of reports indicating that WeTransfer is down at the moment.
