Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin

Two years ago I wrote a silly post listing how many Warhammer games have been released in the past few years. That post is now massively out of date, because there are so many war hammer Games coming in 2023-24 that Games Workshop was able to host their own damn show about it.

With E3 gone, many publishers and platform owners have decided that they’ll still spend the next month showing off their slate of upcoming games, they’ll just do it on their own terms and with their own events. Which means we had an event today called skulls that was, no kidding, just about war hammer games. And there was enough for a show because there were EIGHT war hammer games featured.

But that still left five full games to cover, from an update on Space Marine II to new images of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, revealing that the CRPG will feature space battles. There is also a PowerWash Simulator X warhammer 40,000 collab in the works, which will do an important job of exploring fiction from a perspective I don’t think I’ve ever thought of, let alone contemplated playing in a video game:

War in the 41st millennium is complicated business, but if you think the soldiers fighting the horrors of the galaxy have it wrong, think of the hapless custodians who clean up after them. Imagine all the blood, ichor, and who knows what else will be left behind when the Space Marines have overcome another demon incursion or Tyranid invasion. You’ll need more than just a mop and bucket to put an end to all that.

Maybe you should try a pressure washer?

There was also some stuff for a card game, but whatever. That left room for two full game premieres. One is speed buffs, a vehicular combat game. then think twisted metalalone with many Orks.

The other was the big announcement for the show: Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruinwhich is described as “the first AAA RTS game set in the world of Warhammer Age of Sigmar”, which is an important distinction to make since… we just had an amazing series of RTS games real AAA. set in the major war hammer universe. In the tradition of Warhammer games like dawn of war was announced with a very charming CG trailer, though there won’t be a proper gameplay reveal until next month:
