MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Rain and storm coverage will decrease as we move through the afternoon and tonight. Lows will hover in the 70s under partly cloudy skies. Spotty fog will also be possible overnight into Sunday morning.

Sunday will be another hot and humid day. Highs will be on either side of 90 degrees and the muggy factor will still be noticeable. In the afternoon there will be possible showers and storms, very scattered in nature. Overnight lows will hover in the 70s under partly clear skies.
The weather pattern will remain very similar each day over the course of the next week, typical of what we see in late summer.

The last days of August will be warm. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will see afternoon highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. The humidity factor will remain very high, making you feel sticky and warm when outside. Due to the heat and humidity, isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible each afternoon. Overnight lows will be in the lower 70s.
The beginning of September will be how we end August. Thursday, Friday and Saturday highs will climb into the upper 80s to the lower 90s. The wet factor won’t go anywhere, making it feel very sticky outside. Rain chances remain isolated or scattered, mostly limited to the afternoon hours. Overnight lows will be around 70.

It won’t be a wash every day as rain and storms will be rather unpredictable. Some places will deal with heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds, while other places will remain dry, hot, and muggy.
First Alert Tropics Update: We are getting closer to the average peak of the Atlantic tropical season, which is September 10.

The National Hurricane Center is looking at four areas of concern in the Atlantic Ocean. Development potential is Low to Medium for the various areas being watched. That said, if anything develops, it will be close to or beyond the next 5 days.
