Well, can you believe it? The 2022 Week 1 slate has now come and gone, with plenty of surprises, surprises and great performances from the athletes. Now, we’re ready to see what Week 2 has in store for us. But to find out where you’re going, we’d like to help you out a bit.
We’re back with the top 25 games list, with so many great matchups on the schedule once again this week. When you look back over the week, we can see some teams going 2-0 that we didn’t think they would be and one going 0-2 that we never saw coming. Or 1-1 is also good. Week 2 Top 25 games to watch
Dillard (1-0) at Chaminade-Madonna (1-0): Both teams won the Broward County Elite Showcase and are on an accelerated course for the best game in the state in Week 2.
Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey) (1-0) at Edgewater (1-0): The Eagles welcome one of the best programs in the country from New Jersey. Great test for Edgewater.
Naples (1-0) in Venice (0-1): The battle for Southwest Florida supremacy is here. The Golden Eagles have an excellent opportunity here against the Indians.
Palmetto (1-0) at Braden River (0-0): One of the best matchups in the Southwest Florida region.
Sanford Seminole (1-0) at Kissimmee Osceola (1-0): Can the Seminoles keep up their hot streak against the Kowboys’ strong defense?
Booker T. Washington (1-0) at Edison (0-0): This will be Adrian Posse’s debut for Edison at quarterback.
Carol City (1-0) at Norland (0-0): An underrated game when it comes to all the good southern football.
Killian (0-1) at Colon (1-0): The Explorers could start to sink the Cougars’ season with an 0-2 start.
Lehigh (0-1) at Bishop Verot (1-0): When it comes to offensive football, this should have a lot of yards and points. Oh, and Richard Young.
Calvary Christian Academy (1-0) at Cardinal Gibbons (1-0): Now with the big game under their belt, the Chiefs face an unsuspecting CCA group.
Palmetto Ridge (1-0) at Barron Collier (1-0): If you are heading to the Naples area, this game will not disappoint you.
Mosley (1-0) at Bahia (1-0): Mosley will be looking to maintain his winning ways against a solid Bay group.
Wellington (1-0) at Martin County (1-0): Farther north than Broward, the Tigers are playing some good football.
Plant (0-1) at Berkeley Prep (0-1): Don’t look now, but the Plant Panthers almost beat Tampa Bay Tech last week.
Mandarin (1-0) at Bolles (1-0): The Bulldogs might have the best team yet again in Jacksonville.
Vanguard (1-0) at Niceville (1-0): We know this, the Knights probably won’t score 68 points against Niceville like they did against Gainesville.
Spruce Creek (1-0) at Lake Mary (1-0): I have to like what the Hawks are doing right now.
Apopka (1-0) at West Orange (1-0): The Blue Darters had a scare in Week 1. Will deja vu ensue?
Treasure Coast (0-1) at Jesuit (1-0): If the Tigers play like they did last week, this could turn into a rout.
Cardinal Newman (1-0) at Delray Beach American Heritage (1-0): The Crusaders had a commanding 40-12 victory over Pahokee last week.
Fort Myers North (1-0) at Dunbar (1-0): The best game if you are looking for a high school game in Lee County.
East Lake (0-1) at Mitchell (1-0): The Eagles lost a heartbreaker to the Braves. Mustangs looked in sync against Gulf after the 49-0 affair.
Palm Beach Central (1-0) at Lakewood (1-0): Anthony Colandrea just threw for 305 yards against Northeast.
Gibson Lake (1-0) at Plantation American Heritage (1-0): Maybe this would have been a better matchup last season. Could be a sleeper.
Sarasota Riverview (0-1) at Buchholz (1-0): We have to imagine that the Rams will play better in Gainesville this week.
