Newly Revealed Concept Art for Marvel’s Thor: love and thunder reveals Thor and Valkyrie meeting Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster on the “Moon of Shame” in a deleted scene.
It was previously revealed that Jeff Goldblum, who first appeared as the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarökhad returned to the role for a cameo in Thor: love and thunder. Ultimately, however, Goldblum’s return was cut from the final cut of the film.
Concept art posted online has provided a look at what the Grandmaster’s role is in love and thunder would have been, with this last piece showing him meeting Thor, Valkyrie, Jane Foster, and Korg.
New images shared by concept artist Yujin Choo show interior scenes from the so-called Moon of Shame, with the Grandmaster and Thor: love and thunderThe heroes gathered around a table.
Take a look at the artwork below:
The Moon of Shame appears to be another junk world, similar to Sakaar, the home of the Grand Master in Thor: Ragnarök. It is even possible that it is a moon of Sakaar, perhaps a place of exile for the Grandmaster after his people rose up against him in ragnarok.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster can be seen assisting Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster in the new images. Taika Waititi’s Korg can also be seen in one image, already reduced to nothing more than a head, suggesting that the Grandmaster scene was set after the heroes battled Zeus’s forces in Omnipotence City.
It is not clear from these images what the purpose of the heroes’ journey to visit the Grand Master might have been. However, there are likely plenty of fans who would have liked to see Jeff Goldblum return in Thor: love and thunder and this at least offers a glimpse of what it might have been like.
Here is the synopsis of Thor: love and thunder:

Thor. Together, they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to unravel the mystery of the Butcher God’s revenge and stop him before it’s too late.
