Robin, Boy Wonder, and even Batman at one point, Dick Grayson is known by many aliases, but Nightwing is by far the most popular. After years of being in Batman’s shadow, Dick Grayson eventually moves to Bludhaven to strike out on his own path. Paving the way for the Robins who succeeded him, Dick Grayson becomes Nightwing, a motorcycle-riding, escrima-stick-wielding vigilante of the night.
Nightwing a popular character in DC Comics who appears in several animated series and movies. Whether he’s leading the Titans or helping Batman take down the rogues, Nightwing is a member of the Bat-family you want on your side. In addition to shows and movies, Nightwing appears in several video games, with Gotham Knights being the biggest to date. These are eight games that you can watch or play Nightwing.
8 Injustice: Gods Among Us: Teen Titans
Nightwing is actually the alias of two former Robins in Injustice: Gods Among Us: Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne. Earth One’s Dick Grayson is a pivotal member of the Justice League, but his story has taken a few twists on Earth 22. Damian Wayne’s Nightwing is pretty insufferable, but Dick Grayson is a delight.
Everything from his costume to the character’s powers stays undeniably true to his character, and while you don’t spend much time with him, he certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Also, you get to spend a lot of time with him outside of the story.
7 Batman Arkham Knight: Tag Team
He is referenced in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, but you don’t get to see Nightwing in person until the final game in the trilogy, Batman Arkham Knight. Seeing Tim Drake as Robin in Arkham City confirms that Dick and even Jason Todd once held the title of Robin, which makes the anticipated appearance of him all the more exciting.
Nightwing jumps into the story to help Batman defeat the Penguin. In this part of the game, you can fight alongside him and play the masked hero.
6 Young Justice: Legacy: Origins
Over the years, Nightwing has grown in popularity, which is largely due to his appearances in different series. One of his biggest roles is in Young Justice, an animated series that started in 2010. Video games based on TV shows aren’t always the best, but it’s still exciting to play this version of Nightwing.
The game takes place between seasons one and two of the series, meaning this is one of the first times you get to see Dick Grayson as Nightwing, rather than Robin.
5 LEGO Batman: Look at that hair
LEGO games have offered some of the best DC Comics games, and the LEGO Batman series is one of the best. Nightwing has appeared in a variety of LEGO games, including LEGO Batman: The Videogame, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and LEGO Dimensions.
Although in LEGO form, Dick Grayson’s personality, acrobatic fighting skills, and wardrobe are pretty accurate, even when his hair is ridiculously spiky. Plus, it’s fun to see Dick Grayson in a slightly sillier setting.
4 DC Legends: The Aerial Avenger
DC Legends is one of the few games where you can play Nightwing, instead of just interacting with him. He is considered the “Aerial Avenger” due to his history in the Flying Graysons, an acrobatic group formed by Dick Grayson and his parents. The mobile role-playing game unites DC heroes and villains alike in the fight against Nekron and the Manhunters.
In the mobile game, you can play alongside a variety of characters like members of the Teen Titans and Young Justice, which is a great way to see Nightwing team up with characters outside of the bat family.
3 DC Universe Online: Friend or Foe
The online game asks you to choose the life of a hero or a villain, which will lead you to a multitude of quests and quests. You will meet many familiar faces during your journey, be they allies or enemies. Nightwing is one of the many characters that you can meet in the game.
He resides in Gotham City, which is where you’ll normally find him. Most of your interactions with him will be as a villain, as you will have to fight the hero of Bludhaven during multiple missions.
two Batman: Arkham VR: Unexpected Events
This Nightwing appearance isn’t a very positive one, but it’s still impactful in DC games. As part of the Batman Arkham universe, the virtual reality game allows you to play as Batman from a first-person perspective.
Nightwing is used as a plot element in the game and is meant to push the story forward through Batman’s famous detective work. Though not the happiest of Nightwing’s appearances, the game highlights how skilled he is as a fighter and how well trained he is by Batman.
1 Scribblenauts Unmasked!: Hanging in the Bat Cave
Definitely the cutest entry on this list, Scribblenauts Unmasked! takes you into the DC Universe in a new way. You’ll meet various DC characters, including members of the bat family.
While in Gotham City, you’ll see Nightwing in his red and black ensemble, instead of his more popular blue and black. You can find Dick Grayson in the Batcave fighting Damian Wayne as Robin. The dialogue between the two resembles their interactions in the comics. Nightwing is older and more experienced, but that doesn’t stop Damian from growling.
