Need an extra push to get out into the world but have you completed or are you bored of catching pocket monsters? Don’t worry; here are 7 games like Pokemon Go to play in 2023.
Pokemon Go convinced a lot of people to come out when it first came out. I know there’s an argument for not looking at your screen while you’re outside, but you can’t deny that it’s a great way to keep fit.
If you or a loved one need a little extra persuasion to climb that mountain or get out of the pool to explore the local area on vacation, here are 7 games to play like Pokémon Go that will get your step count soaring and your heart pumping. pumping.
Oh, and don’t forget your battery packs!
7. Geocaching (2014)
We have to start this list with the mother of all ‘go exploring apps’, the Geocaching app.
For those of you who don’t know what Geocaching is, it’s like a real life treasure hunt where users can find hidden items all over the world.
It can range from a notebook where people can sign to say “I found this geocache and where you are from” to a box full of cool trinkets for people to take with them.
Geocaching is a great way to turn a family hike into a great adventure for kids of any age, or for most of my 30-year-old friends who don’t bother getting out in the field.
6. Angry Birds AIR: Isle of Pigs (2019)
Imagine scanning the real world for green pigs to take down with the Angry Birds team.
At the time of writing, there are over 17,000 levels that have been created by users, all waiting for you to discover them as you move around the park, go on vacation, head on that work trip, or run to the train.
It’s Angry Birds with a difference, and that main difference is Augmented Reality. It’s not enough to make this game lower on this list, but it’s still awesome!
5. Draconium Go (2018)
Draconius Go ranks fifth on our list of the best games like Pokemon Go to play in 2023!
Ok, so this is exactly the same as Pokemon Go, it just boasts of catching dragons instead of Pokemon! Tame a dragon… well, tame over 200 of them, learn spells and upgrade your monsters as you progress through the game!
The game mechanics are so similar to Pokémon Go that you won’t have a problem getting stuck and catching your first few dragons. Honestly, I really don’t know how the developers have gotten away with it!
4. Orna: The GPS RPG (2022)
Remember our list of the best SNES RPGs that we spent hours selecting? Well Orna – GPS RPG plays and feels like Chrono Trigger and Secret Of Evermore, with players heading across real paths and tracks to fight.
You can fight against other users, which gives you a real cooperative environment from the sofa, but in the open air. Forest log cooperative?
There are more than 300 monsters to fight in the different dungeons that you will encounter on your way through this game. Surprisingly, despite being one of the newer games on this list, it looks and feels like all of our old pixelated favorites from yesteryear.
3. Main income (2018)
Ingress Prime is a reboot of Ingress, the first game Niantic made back in the day.
And while it looks a bit like Tron on steroids, it’s a great game for anyone who needs an excuse to get out and explore, with players looking for exotic stuff.
And I don’t think that means Hawaiian shirts or Dragonfruit.
Pick a side, search for materia, and head out into the world in an attempt to explore attractions and landmarks in your local area, and indeed, the rest of the world.
Hey, it’s getting you outside and learning more too, not a bad app right?
2. Pikmin Bloom (2021)
Pikmin Bloom isn’t as difficult as some of the other games on this list, but it does involve you walking outdoors in search of Pikmin… which is why it instantly dropped to second place on this list.
Walking makes you grow Pikmin. If you’re reading this article, chances are you already know who and what the Pikmin are. If you I have not done it then come back and check out the latest game on our list of the best Nintendo Switch games.
Flowers grow behind you as you walk and plant them in your neighborhood and sometimes you will also experience multiplayer events in the game.
Remember, the only way to grow your Pikmin is by walking, so take those steps!
1. Jurassic World Alive (2018)
Jurassic World Alive takes the top spot on our list of the best games like Pokemon Go to play in 2023!
I mean, if you love searching for Pokemon but want a larger challenge, so I guess adding dinosaurs to the mix works great, right?
Search dino DNA, make dinos, fight dinos, search dinos. It’s honestly the best mobile game for people who have a dual passion for the outdoors and imagine what hiking would be like if they were being chased by a huge T-Rex.
Until you’ve fought a few turn-based battles in the middle of the forest with some epic scaly creatures, then you’ve never lived.
It might not catch Dragonite or Eternatus though, but it’s probably 100 times scarier!
