A new feature for Smile takes us behind the scenes of the director’s hair-raising horror film finn parker. The upcoming film marks Finn’s feature film debut and is an adaptation of his acclaimed short film. Laura has not slept.
Smile follows Dr. Rose Cotter (sosie bacon), a psychiatrist who witnesses the gruesome suicide of a young woman who claims to see an entity smiling at her from the shadows. After the traumatic event, Dr. Rose begins to experience hallucinations, leading her to investigate the multiple occurrences of people who have committed suicide after describing a similar occurrence. It’s a simple yet effective concept that leads Dr. Rose in a race against time to discover where this threat is coming from and how she can survive. In the new report, Finn highlights how Smile it was filmed to give the audience a constant sense of “unease” as it deals with psychological horrors that are just as deadly as the material ones.
Discussing his creative process, Finn says he wanted to “create a movie that feels like a growing nightmare,” and that’s because “the evil in the movie wears a smile as a mask to hide their true intentions.” As such, instead of revealing the true horrors Dr. Rose faces from the start, Smile it slowly builds up the tension by becoming scarier throughout its runtime. Sounds like the perfect way to start the spooky season in the right frame of mind.

The short starring Caitlyn Staseywho will also return for Smile. the cast for Smile it also contains kyle galner (a nightmare on elm street), Jessie T Usher (dangerous lies), robin weigert (the inmortal), Kal Penn (the brotherhood of the night), Y Robert Morgan (the unforgivable).
