Saks Fifth Avenue scales up its popular personal shopping service

The New York-based retailer announced that it will open Styling Suites across the country in partnership with hotel groups. The independent and private personal shop and design suites will launch in partnership with world-class resorts across the US, including Laguna Beach and Napa Valley, California; Honolulu, Hawaii; Nashville, Tennessee; and Orlando, Florida, among other places.

The new Fifth Avenue Club luxury suites are an evolution of the brand’s existing Fifth Avenue clubs, which have historically been housed within SaksSKS Fifth Avenue stores to provide customers with the highest level of personalized service. For the initiative, Saks Fifth Avenue partnered with leading luxury resort operators, including Marriott InternationalMAR and its portfolio of luxury brands, including The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis, to bring the Fifth Avenue Club to life in private suites and similar intimate spaces around the world. Available to local guests and as an amenity to hotel guests looking to shop on the go, the new Fifth Avenue Club spaces offer personal shopping and styling appointments, plus special events, trunk shows and one-of-a-kind shopping experiences.

The Fifth Avenue Club has retained the most highly-trained personal stylists in each market to provide customers with expertly curated selections of products across categories based on each customer’s specific needs and style preferences, from clothing and accessories to shoes and fine jewelry. The new concept utilizes the unparalleled variety of Saks luxury lifestyle available throughout the Saks Fifth Avenue ecosystem, with stylists presenting products from and Saks Fifth Avenue stores during client appointments.

To celebrate the expansion of the Fifth Avenue Club, Saks Fifth Avenue and Marriott International hosted an intimate dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel on Wednesday, May 31, where guests had the opportunity to explore the new Fifth Avenue Club Suite located in the complex. Located on Salt Creek Beach with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel offers a unique and elegant setting for the Fifth Avenue Club. The Fifth Avenue Club expansion includes standalone and private style suites at top luxury resorts in the following markets: Charleston, SCSC; Deer Valley, UT; Honolulu, HI; Laguna Beach, Calif.; Nantucket, MA; Napa Valley, CA; Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The new Fifth Avenue Club format advances the luxury retailer’s highly personalized personalized service into new markets to serve customers seeking more experience-based retail. The transformative new spaces of the Fifth Avenue Club will offer personalized design and shopping services to hotel guests and local clients by appointment, as well as a series of special events, trunk shows and unique shopping experiences.

During appointments, expert stylists will present clients with curated editions and exclusive items in all categories, from clothing and accessories to shoes and fine jewelry, curated specifically for each appointment. The new concept will utilize Saks’ strong existing inventory of coveted brands, with stylists pulling merchandise from and Saks Fifth Avenue stores for client appointments.

To achieve its vision, Saks Fifth Avenue partnered with luxury resorts in key markets across the country. Partners include Marriott International Luxury Brands and its portfolio of properties, including The Ritz-Carlton, and other leading hotel operators, including Auberge Resorts Collection and Faraway Hotels.

By licensing turnkey private suites and similar intimate spaces, Saks Fifth Avenue plans to rapidly expand its concept of asset-light personal shopping. The new format of the Fifth Avenue Club evokes the residential feel of a Saks Fifth Avenue suite, serving as an amenity to resort guests and local shoppers alike. The suites can be easily reconfigured to meet the needs of each client.
