A name frequently comes to mind when people think of the legendary blonde woman Marilyn Monroe. Monroe was an American actress, singer, and model who became popular during the 1950s and 1960s as a “blonde beauty” in a host of movies.
She was a symbol of the sexual revolution of the time, and the American Film Institute named her one of the best female film goddesses of the Great Age of Hollywood. Therefore, it stands to reason that her story has been told and heard many times.
Marilyn has watched unauthorized documentaries and made-for-TV movies as “untold stories” from the first few years after her death. Nonetheless, the latter is guaranteed to be a hit.
Blonde, which was originally planned to be released in 2021, is currently set to be released in the fall of this year and has already caused controversy due to its rating, actors, and narrative.
Blonde: the plot
The film is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, published in 2000. It is a dramatized portrait of Monroe’s life that began when Oates saw a photo of the potential star after she had won a beauty pageant in 1941. Blonde’s The synopsis says that the film lavishly reimagines the story of Marilyn Monroe, perhaps one of Hollywood’s most enduring legends.
“Blonde” blurs the lines between fact and fiction to examine the widening divide between her private and public personas, beginning with her tumultuous youth as Norma Jeane and continuing throughout her rise to prominence and romantic entanglements.
Blonde: The Cast and Crew
Andrew Dominik, a New Zealand-born Australian filmmaker and screenwriter, made the film. He is most recognized for his contributions to Brad Pitt’s Killing Them Softly (2012) and, more recently, segments of the Netflix show Mindhunter (2019).
Brad Pitt’s production business, Plan B Entertainment, Inc., which he started in 2001 with Brad Gray and Jennifer Aniston, is also producing the film, according to Oates.
The lead actress of the film has received a lot of attention. Ana de Armas will play Marilyn Monroe in the film. After just one audition, the Cuban and Spanish actress seized the role and wowed the director. Dominik has been searching for the right actress for the role for over a decade. Many people were concerned about Armas’ presentation, especially her thick accent.
Another of Marilyn’s wives, American baseball legend Joe DiMaggio, will be played by Bobby Cannavale (The Irishman, 2019). There are many more well-known actors in the cast, namely Julianne Nicholson (I, Tonya, 2019), Caspar Phillipson (Jackie, 2016), Toby Huss (Halloween, 2018), and others.
Blonde: release date
The film will premiere on Netflix worldwide on September 23, 2022.
