It’s almost time to turn the Quantum Leap accelerator back on as NBC’s next reboot of the cult classic sci-fi series from the late ’80s and early ’90s. quantum leap is scheduled to arrive Monday, September 19 on NBC and broadcast on Peacock. The new 26-second trailer sees Lee’s character, renowned physicist Dr. Ben Seong, flash back to 1986 and find himself backstage at a music concert in Los Angeles. Looking in the mirror, he sees that he has jumped into the body of a female lead singer of a rock band, and given the chanting off-screen, it’s time to act. The new series is set 30 years after the events of the original series when Dr. Sam Beckett (scott bakula), stepped on the Quantum Leap accelerator and disappeared into the past. Now, a new team has come together to solve the mystery behind the titular Quantum Leap accelerator. When Ben participates in an unauthorized activation of the machine, he goes back in time to the 1980s with amnesia. Now, it’s up to Ben to figure out how to get back to his time, all with the help of a hologram named Addison (Caitlyn Bassett) and Herbert “Magic” Williams, a “sensible career military man” played by ernie hudson who uses his pull to keep the use of the machine a secret.
The original quantum leap It ran for five seasons from 1989 to 1993 on NBC, spanning ninety-seven episodes, and is a much-loved cult classic. The series followed Beckett on his journeys into the past, where he would “jump” past people to correct past events, all in an attempt to return to his time. During its five seasons, the series won seventeen awards, including several Golden Globes and Primetime Emmy Awards. The series won Emmys for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series in 1989, 1990, and 1991.
Join Lee, Bassett and Hudson in the cast of the quantum leap restart sound mason alexander park Y nancy lee. The series was ordered to series by NBC in May 2022 after a pilot was made which was directed by helen shaver (station eleven) and written by the pitch showrunners steven lilien Y Bryan Wynbrdant. Lilien and Wynbrdant were also showrunners for the series until the end of July, being replaced by Martin Gero with the duo now only serving as executive producers. Other executive producers on the series include Gero through Quinn’s House Productions, creator of the original series. Don Bellisario through Belisarius Productions, and Deborah Prattwho did the voice of Ziggy the AI ββin the original series.

It has been almost 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped on the Quantum Leap accelerator and disappeared. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project in hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. However, everything changes when Ben takes an unauthorized jump into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. Beside Ben throughout his jumps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), appearing in hologram form that only Ben can see and hear. She is a decorated Army veteran who brings no-nonsense precision to her work. Leading the highly classified operation is Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson), a no-nonsense career military man who has to answer to his bosses who won. They won’t be happy once they learn of the breach of protocol. The rest of the team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), who heads the “Ziggy” AI unit, and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee), who heads digital security for the project. As Ben jumps from one life to another, righting what once went wrong, it becomes clear that he and the team are in for an exciting ride. However, Addison, Magic, Ian and Jenn know that if they are going to solve the mystery of Ben’s jump and bring him home, they must act fast or lose him forever.
