Release date and maintenance time of the new season of Rainbow Six Siege
Ubisoft has confirmed that the new season of Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Brutal Swarm has a release date set for Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
The new Year 7 Season 3 update will be available to download at different times depending on the platform you choose.
According to the schedule shared by Ubisoft, the new season of Rainbow Six Siege will kick off on PC at 7am PDT / 10am EDT / 3pm BST.
This will be followed by Year 7 Season 3 starting on Xbox platforms at 8am PDT / 11am EDT / 4pm BST, and PlayStation platforms at 9am PDT / 12pm BST.
There will be an hour of downtime on all platforms before the release of the new update, and the new patch is expected to be over 30gb to download on all platforms, with some platforms needing a larger patch.
Ubisoft has explained that the larger sizes will help in the long run, with a new statement from the R6 development team adding: “A larger download will be required for Y7S3 due to a data consolidation. This is to save disk space, reduce overall build size, and improve load times for players.”
“Operation Brutal Swarm will deploy tomorrow, September 6. Downtime: ~1 hour per platform.”
As mentioned above, Rainbow Six Siege Year 7 Season 3 will add Grim, a new Operator hailing from Singapore who will be able to offer teams a unique ability. An expert in reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and survival techniques, his unique Kawan Hive Launcher is the perfect tool for when you need precise information on enemy movement and deployment.
The new attacker will come complete with a shotgun and pistol, and the aforementioned Kawan Hive Launcher, which fires a projectile that unleashes a swarm of bots that track the location of opponents passing through it.
Operation Brutal Swarm will also see the introduction of Stadium Bravo as a permanent map and the release of the Impact EMP Grenade, a new throwable device that explodes on impact to disable nearby electronics for a short period of time.
