On Friday, the highly anticipated follow-up arrives four years after its predecessor’s theatrical release in April 2019.


Zachary Levi returns as the titular superhero alongside Asher Angel, who reprises his role as Shazam’s teenage alter ego Billy Batson. Familiar faces from the franchise also appear in the second installment of the film, plus several newcomers like Zegler.


New cast members recruited to join the sequel include Helen Mirren as Hespera, the daughter of Atlas, alongside Lucy Liu, who plays her demigod sister, Kalypso. They are the main villains of Shazamthe second installment of




Zegler’s character is his sister.


In July, he told Mirren that his character “it was fun” play.


“She’s so wonderfully complex, and working with Helen and Lucy was amazing,” Zegler said in a video interview during Comic Con. “I miss you ladies! We need to get the goddesses back together to catch up soon! ”

Shazam! fury of the gods serves as a sequel to Shazam! released in 2019. The film continues the story of Billy Batson who, by reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!” — He is struck by the Living Lightning of the Gods and transformed into his adult superhero alter ego.
