The Pittsburgh Penguins will kick off the 2022 preseason on Sunday, September 25 at 1:00 pm against the Columbus Blue Jackets with their 10th annual “Free Kids Game,” presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
As part of the festivities, the team will donate more than 18,000 tickets for this game to various youth organizations throughout the region, including various amateur hockey programs, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, and Pittsburgh Public Schools families. Youth will join in the game presentation throughout the afternoon, with multiple DICK’S Sporting Goods Jr. Starters of the Game representing various facets of Pittsburgh youth hockey.
Fans in the local Pittsburgh market will have the opportunity to watch the ‘Kids Free Game’ via a live stream on www.pittsburghpenguins.com. Five of the six games during the preseason will be broadcast in some form.
Pittsburgh regional rights owner AT&T SportsNet will air both exhibition contests against the Buffalo Sabers on Saturday, October 1 at KeyBank Center and Friday, October 7 at PPG Paints Arena.
In addition to the ‘Kids Free Game,’ the second game of the split-squad competition against Columbus on Sunday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m., as well as when the Penguins take on the Detroit Red Wings at PPG Paints Arena on On Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 pm, it will be streamed on the Penguins website. Only fans who live in the local Pittsburgh/AT&T SportsNet region will be able to access the broadcasts.
