Original ‘High School Musical’ cast members join ‘HSMTMTS’ for season 4

Fans of “High School Musical” are in for a treat on the upcoming season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”

Disney announced that six of the original cast members from the film franchise will appear in season 4.

Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed, and Kaycee Stroh will join the cast in the new season, along with recurring guest stars Kylie Cantrall, Matthew Sato, Caitlin Reilly, and Vasthy Mompoint.

The official synopsis for the upcoming season reads:

“After an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake, the Wildcats return to East High where they put on a stage production of ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year.’ But plans are interrupted when director Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited film ‘High School Musical 4: The Reunion’ on the site of his beloved high school. Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed and Kaycee Stroh will play themselves, resurrecting their ‘High School Musical’ roles as Chad Danforth, Taylor McKessie, Ryan Evans, Coach Jack Bolton, Ms. Darbus and Martha Cox. respectively, and the Wildcats will act as featured extras in the film.”

This is not the first time that a star from the original films has appeared in the spin-off series.

Bleu made his debut on “HSMTMTS” in Season 3, where he played an exaggerated version of himself who appeared as a celebrity guest during the school’s production of “Frozen.”

Speaking about the experience at the time, he said it felt like a homecoming coming back to the franchise.

“I really got on an emotional roller coaster,” he recalled. People. “When this season was coming to an end, I had a moment where I was watching them all perform and it hit me. It hit me like a ton of bricks where I see the impact the original movies had.”

Season 3 of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is now available to stream on Disney+.
