Nintendo Switch online update adds 3 GBA games

Nintendo has released a new update for its nintendo switch online service adding three more games for expansion pack subscribers to view. Nintendo Switch Online is Nintendo’s equivalent of PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. For a fee, Nintendo Switch players can use Switch Online to play online multiplayer games, as well as play a collection of retro games.

Initially, the Nintendo Switch Online service only offered NES and Super Nintendo games, but the service has since expanded considerably. This is especially true for those who signed up for the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack tier, which combines all the benefits of the basic Switch Online service with other bonuses like free DLC for mario kart 8 deluxe and access to games from the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance libraries.

As one might have guessed, Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 it’s a Game Boy Advance port of that classic SNES game too.

Some Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers may be disappointed with these deals. After all, all three of these games are technically already available on the service in different guises. Switch Online subscribers can already play the original versions of all three games through their subscription, though they’ll miss out on some of the bells and whistles added with the Game Boy Advance ports.

Fortunately, Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers can look forward to much more in the near future with games like pokemon stadium 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons on deck along with a variety of other titles.
