Metal Gear Solid Δ looks pretty silly written, but which games have worse titles?

Welcome to the 53rd episode of the Best Games Ever show – the best game with a terrible name.

The video game industry has a long and storied history of horrible names. Several developers have spent literally millions of dollars on great games only to include the most astonishingly horrible title in the final product.

Boring names are pretty common, with tepid words like War, Quest, or Royale thrown in there more for tone than anything remotely interesting. Then there are the wild things! Metal Gear Rising: Revengence is a truly mythical example, and the recently announced Metal Gear Solid (Delta Symbol) is raising smiles in its pseudo-intellectual absurdity. But if you search hard enough, you can find some wonderful gibberish out there. UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Latest is an actual game that exists, and good as it may be, even the most confident and knowledgeable among us would have a hard time explaining what it’s supposed to mean. Imagine your father finding that.

So there’s a lot of room to work on this topic and multiple interesting angles to attack it. If you want to know our picks for the best game with a terrible name, you need to listen to The Best Games Ever Show.

Luckily for you, you’ve stumbled across the same web page that has all the ways to do it listed in a handy format below. Lucky!

You can also just read the summary below, if you’re the type of person who jumps to the last page of a book (an evil, a reprobate, a bad seed).

tom chose Football coach because he has a database of terrible names for when he runs out of living players and has to start making them up. Or something. I’m not sure, I kinda faded tbh.

Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing transformed it has such a stupid unwieldy title that I honestly had to look it up three times while writing it because I forgot the next word.

Sun chose possibly the most imaginable PS1 game in the form No one can stop Mr. Domino!a game in which Mr. Domino is finally stopped by a misfortune.

“What is the best game show of all time?” you ask? Well, it’s essentially a 30 minute panel where people (Jim Trinca and associates) decide on the best game in a specific category. That’s all. It’s good. listen to it.
