Lorraine “Lori” Craig, of the West Brow community at Lookout Mountain, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023.

She was born on October 11, 1960 in Fort Knox, KY, the daughter of Alvin Lindy Sellers and Inge Graff Sellers. Her father was in the army and he met his wife in Germany. The family lived in various military posts while she was growing up, including Germany and Texas.

She was fluent in German and was proud of her German heritage.

Lori loved gardening and spending time outdoors. Her family was her pride and her joy. She liked being “Mimi” to the “Grands” of hers.

She was an animal lover and a strong supporter of the Walker County Animal Shelter. She rescued “Otis” from the shelter and would use social media to try to help find homes for other homeless pets.

She also had a heart for the homeless and carried backpacks containing blankets, socks, gloves, canned goods and non-perishable snacks that she handed out.

No one was a stranger to her, whether she ran into them at the supermarket or at church.

Lori loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful motorcycle trips to Alaska, Yellowstone, the Tetons, and other beautiful places with her husband, Buford.

She met Buford when she worked at the North River Nursery, which he owned. They were married on January 26, 2006.

They had recently built a beautiful log home in the woods with lots of plants for her to enjoy in the garden and a great swing set for the Grands to enjoy.

His brother Johnny Sellers preceded him in death.

She is survived by her husband, Buford Craig, her sister Susan (Wayne) Lewis, ddaughter Chelsy (Brian) Millsaps and her sons Billie and Finnegan, daughter Christy Williams and her children Caylee and Jessa, daughter Raesheal (Bryan Thobodeau) Dempsey and her children Sage, Averiana, Harper and Roman Jr. damion thompson ystepson Glen (Renee) Craig and their children Brooke and Brontë.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, June 7 at Rock Creek Fellowship’s Lula Lake location, 5209 Lula Lake Road. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm with a service at 6 pm presided over by Pastor Eric Youngblood.

In lieu of flowers, please make Lori’s memory donations to the Walker County Animal Shelter.
