Either LAFC or Mexico’s Club León will win their first CONCACAF Champions League title on Sunday night when the two teams meet in the decisive second leg of the tournament final at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
Leon has the upper hand after their 2-1 first-leg victory in Mexico Thursday. La Fiera dominated the game, but a goal from Denis Bouanga in stoppage time gave LAFC hope for the second leg.
LAFC will need to win by two goals at home to win the title, while a draw or win will do the trick for León.
If the two teams are tied on aggregate goals after the end of the second leg, they will go to extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. Although away goals were a tiebreaker in previous rounds, they will not serve as a tiebreaker in the final (page 24 official rules).
