Knock at the Cabin Trailer: M. Night Shyamalan’s Apocalypse Thriller

Dave Bautista and Jonathan Groff lead the cast of the home invasion horror flick from the director of “Old” and “Sixth Sense.”

Academy Award-nominated director M. Night Shyamalan’s chilling latest film, “The Sixth Sense” and “Old,” takes on apocalyptic dimensions. “Touch the cabin”, his first feature film since that crazy last appearance in which Gael García Bernal and Vicky Krieps grew old before our eyes in real time on a beach, is based on the horror novel “The cabin at the end of the world” by Pablo. G. Tremblay. It will only be in theaters on February 3, 2023 by Universal Pictures, which means no Peacock day and date here, and you can check out the official trailer below.

According to an official synopsis, “While on vacation in a remote cabin, a girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable decision to prevent the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe in before everything is lost.”

Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge play those parents, and Dave Bautista, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Rupert Grint and Abby Quinn play those strangers.

Shyamalan’s latest film, “Old,” posted decent numbers at the summer 2021 box office. The film, which Shyamalan also wrote, grossed more than $90 million, impressive for an original thriller in the climate of a pandemic. There were rumors that “Knock at the Cabin” would be told in one long take, and while that turned out to be untrue, Shyamalan is surely up to some of the old tricks of his own again.

During filming, he tweeted (per Collider): “A week ended in #knockatthecabin such complex performances this week. Very dark and emotional movie. One take shook me up so much that I had to walk away to recover. I hope you guys feel it too when you see it.”

Shyamalan wrote the adapted screenplay, and this time, he’s working with Jarin Blaschke, the Academy Award-nominated director of photography for Robert Eggers’ “The Lighthouse” and, more recently, “The Northman.”

Dave Bautista was most recently seen in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune,” and he’s gearing up to return as Glossu “Beast” Rabban for “Dune: Part Two.” Jonathan Groff also last voiced him in the Netflix miniseries “Lost Ollie” and starred in “The Matrix Resurrections.”
