In the words of Uncle Jesse Katsopolis of “Full House,” “Have mercy!”

John Stamos, 59, has revealed why he was initially “mad” at twins Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, 36, for skipping the 2016 “Full House” reboot, and how a conversation with them after their deaths by Bob Saget helped them heal.

From 1987 to 1995, the three starred together in the sitcom “Full House” for eight seasons.

“[Bob Saget] It was instrumental in keeping us all together,” Stamos began during an appearance this week on the “Glee” stars Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz podcast, “And that’s what you really missed. “

“The twins moved to New York… and I have to tell you, it’s one of the only good things to come out of Bob, well… Mary-Kate and Ashley, we really didn’t see them much,” she explained. talking about the death of the star in 2022.

“I mean, we kept in touch for a while, but Bob really did it. And they were great… You hear rumors, ‘Oh, they hated their childhood or they hated being on the show or something. ‘”

The twins played Michelle Tanner, daughter of Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), while Stamos played her uncle Jesse Katsopolis, telling the story of a modern family reunited after the death of Tanner’s imaginary wife.

“When I made more complete house They didn’t want to come back,” Stamos continued. “And I was mad for a minute. And he went out. “

But they were just saying, ‘We love our childhood. We loved being with you. We miss Bob. They came to my house. They brought a piece of ham and sage. I don’t know why, but thanks. It was a frozen pork chop, so it was very good. So we’re very close.”

The Post has reached out to representatives for Stamos and the Olsen twins for comment.

In 2015, it was announced that the reboot of the original show is coming to Netflix, and it’s called “Fuller House.”

As Stamos put it, the Olsen twins, who have since largely withdrawn from public life, turned down the chance to reprise their original roles.

They starred on the show as babies up to the age of eight.

Instead, it featured cameos from Stamos and Saget, as well as Dave Coulier who played Joey Gladstone, Lori Loughlin as Becky Katsopolis, Jodie Sweetin as Stephanie Tanner, and Scott Weinger who played Steve Hill.

Reboot ran for five seasons, expiring in 2020.

In 2021, Stamos admitted that he was initially disappointed that the Olsen twins hadn’t been as creative on the reboot as they were on “Watch What’s Happening Live With Andy Cohen,” but they understood his decision.

Last month, Stamos admitted in a separate podcast appearance that he wanted to cast the twins at first.

But even though he was disappointed, there was a period of time where he really wanted to throw the two of them out of the sitcom back in the day.

She claimed she “couldn’t handle” the twins’ constant crying during a podcast appearance in April.

Stamos explained that the incident occurred during the first episode of the show, when he and Collier’s character took over Olsen’s character while her father was away.

“They were 11 months old and God bless them,” Stamos said during an appearance in April. Josh Peck and Ben Soffer’s “Good Guys” podcast. “They kept changing: ‘This is not going to cry.’ I couldn’t handle it,” recalls Stamos. “And I said, ‘This isn’t going to work.’ So they got rid of them.”

In the episode, the twins were replaced by a pair of red-haired actors, and they were brought back a few days later.
