Iowa high school football live updates, Week 5 game analysis


As is the case every year, the Iowa high school football season reaches breakneck speed once the games begin. It takes a fraction of a second to go from Week 1 to the middle of the season. UNI-Dome talks will be here very soon.

That’s true once again as we head into Week 5 of the 2022 high school football season. As always, we’ve got reporters and photographers spread across Iowa to bring you plenty of analysis, commentary and more from another Friday. in the evening.

7:33 p.m.: Little Hawks take over this rivalry game early.

Oliver Kniss becomes the third different City High player to throw a TD in the first quarter. Iowa City West in a quick 21-0 hole.

7:27 p.m. – West Des Moines Valley at Marshalltown after a quarter.

Tigres has the 7-0 lead. The Bobcats drove deep into Tiger territory, but lost a fumble. Valle moves again approaching the midfield. See all the action here.

7:22 p.m. — Early Tournament at Iowa High School Football Games at 7 p.m.

7:18 p.m.: Ben Kueter, quarterback?

Iowa’s football and wrestling commitment puts the Little Hawks on the board first with an early TD pass on a trick play. It should be another great “Battle for the boot”.

7:11 p.m.: Sioux City East with an early lead over Ankeny Centennial

Jaguars in a 7-0 hole after allowing a TD on fourth down. Check out the action here.

7:05 p.m. — Nolan DeLong continues to dance.

We highlighted Durant’s running back last week as one of the few Iowa high school football players to come close to significant records.

Well, DeLong is at it again early.

7 p.m. — The big wave of Iowa high school football games begins.

Those lucky enough to avoid a JV-induced delay will start at 7 pm Let’s have a night.

6:35 p.m. — Signs of fall have arrived at several Iowa high school football games.

It’s the 1950s in several different parts of Iowa. I’m betting we’ll see a lot of blankets in the stands tonight.

6:07 pm — Spirit Lake-OABCIG should be a dandy.

After a great Friday of Class 5A action last week, the Registry comes out tonight in perhaps the best game in the state. Cooper DeJean’s alma mater takes on Spirit Lake in a battle of the undefeated.
