Insomniac Games has an update on the release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the year. Insomniac Games originally announced the action-adventure title at PlayStation Showcase in 2021, but didn’t provide many details, including the game’s release date.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature Peter Parker and Miles Morales as two playable characters.

After Sony revealed the gameplay trailer for the title at the recent PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday, the studio revealed that the title is not a cooperative game and will instead feature Spider-Men as playable characters that players will switch between.

Also, Insomniac Games promised to share more information about the game soon.

In a post posted to his Twitter account, Insomniac responded to fan questions about the game. The developer then stated that it will provide more news on the title soon, including the release date, pre-orders, and accessibility features.

He wrote, “Seeing your reactions today has been spectacular. We know you have tons of questions about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and we can’t wait to share more soon, including news on the release date, pre-orders, and accessibility features.”

When a fan, @jayethehuman, asked for more information about pre-orders in the studio’s tweet, he responded with the words, “We’ll let you know ahead of time about the pre-order launch.”

Last December, Sony revealed that the game will arrive this fall. However, the company did not provide a concrete release date, and that has led to a lot of reports and speculation about its release date.

In March, Tony Todd, who voices Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, stated that the game will launch in September after a massive marketing campaign planned for August.

Last month, industry insider Jason Schreier corroborated Todd’s statement when he speculated that the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a factor in Sony’s decision to delay the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will see our heroes take on Kraven the Hunter and his soldiers.

While both sources sound credible, they do not represent Sony or Insomniac Games. Because of this, his comments are, at best, cleared up as hearsay. However, Insomniac’s tweet hints that the studio will soon have more information, this time official, for us.

By the way, the new trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 looks a bit sinister. Unlike the first game, which featured a cheerful Peter Parker, the trailer shows that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature an aggressive and impatient version of the character.

It also shows him fully embracing the symbiote and using it to wreak massive havoc on his opponents.

Although we haven’t played the game yet, we believe that the immersive experience it offers and its incredible fight scenes will make it a Game of the Year contender.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PlayStation 5 at a yet-to-be-confirmed date this fall.
