The Psychic Spectacular event has returned to Pokemon Go with a focus on Elgyem, so we’ve got all the details you need on how to catch him and if he can be Shiny.
Elgyem is a Pure Psychic-type Pokémon originating from the Unova region of Black & White. It made its Pokémon Go debut in August 2020 and is now the star of the show at the Psychic Spectacular event.
Whether you’re wondering how to catch Elgyem in Pokemon Go, decide if a Shiny version is worth hunting, or figure out how to evolve it, we’ve got all the information you need right here.
How to catch Elgyem in Pokémon Go
There are a few ways to find Elgyem during the Psychic Spectacular event:
- Like a wild encounter as you explore.
- As a reward for completing event-exclusive Field Research tasks.
- As a reward for completing the Psychic Spectacular timed research quest.
The easiest way to catch Elgyem is definitely to make your way through the psychic spectacular timed research quest, as you’ll get one Elgyem encounter for every five curveball pitches you land.
You can also get Elgyem encounters by completing event-exclusive field research tasks or finding them in the wild, though it’s not guaranteed you’ll be able to find one using these methods.
Can Elgyem be shiny in Pokémon Go?
The good news is that Shiny Elgyem is now available in Pokemon Go, which means that Shiny Beheeyem is also available when it evolves. They made their Shiny debut during the Psychic Spectacular event.
As always, the chances of finding a Shiny Pokémon are very low, so it’s really just about finding as many as you can in the wild and hoping for the best.
How to evolve Elgyem to Beheeyem in Pokémon Go
cost 50 candies to evolve Elgyem to Beheeyem in Pokémon Go. No special items or companion tasks are required for this evolution process.
If you’re having a hard time earning enough candy, remember that you can get extra candy by using Pinap Berries, transferring any unwanted Elgyem, or walking an Elgyem as your Buddy Pokemon.
