with Sumere, Genshin Impact Update 3.0 has introduced a large new region, which will likely grow even larger in a few weeks with Patch 3.1. Other additions include new characters like Tighnari and Collei, who are the first additions to the roster to wield Dendro’s new power.
However, before venturing into the dry deserts of the west, there are many secrets to be discovered in the jungle area of Sumeru. Among them is a waypoint submerged in water. How to unlock it and discover a hidden sphere booting is explained in this guide.
Lower the water level in Genshin Impact
go to the statue of the seven in the west of Sumeru City and look northwest. There, a ruin rises above the valley of a river that cuts through the landscape. Slide in that direction using the Dendro Hooks to increase your speed. Two optional entrances lead inside. Jump on the side of the ruins and slide down below the first level to the open side.
If you have chosen the west side, now turn right, where you will see some ruin machines and a locked mechanism, over which hangs a Seelie. Destroy the machines and operate the mechanism to lower the water level. However, this is not enough to reach the waypoint.
Further inside the ruins you will find a second mechanism. Follow the Seelie into the cave through the canal or take the passage to the left of the first mechanism to get to the right spot.
Activate the underwater waypoint in Genshin Impact
The second mechanism is also blocked. To unlock it, you need to activate four dendro steles scattered around the cave. First, climb up the huge branch, where you catch a dendroculus, which you can then sacrifice into a Statue of the Seven. From there it’s an easy walk up the crumbling walls of the ruins, behind which you’ll find the first stele. Activate it with a Dendro attack.
The second stele is hidden behind Dendro’s green barrier, which you can get around using the grappling hooks on the left side. After that, he fights the treasure hoarders to get the chest with a blueprint and some Cousins.
The remaining two stelae are buried under the rocks marked with Dendro symbols. To blow them up, you need the power of dendrograna.
You will reveal a source for these by firing Dendro’s power at the rectangular rock on the lower levelwhere the resting place of the Seelie you discovered in the first mechanism is located.
Defeat the enemies that appear, then shoot the Dendrograne at the rocks marked with an archer. He activates the contrails with Dendro’s power. This will unlock the second mechanism. This lowers the water level enough that you can now reach the reference point in the river valley.

However, this is not the only secret of this cave. Go back to the second mechanism and jump to the lower level, where the chest appears after unlocking the mechanism. Defeat the machines and open the round stone door. Behind him, more guards are waiting for you to defeat them. You will also find another dendroculus here.
Go deeper into the cave until you find the entrance to a sphere. Take the Dendrograna from its source and let the arrows fly on the hover dendro ring as well as Dendro’s ring that appears as a result.
This will open the path to the sphere, which has more rewards for you.
