Gill scored 42 races from 38 deliveries in an effort to help GT cross the finish line. Ultimately, GT managed just 157 runs from 20 overs and lost the game by a margin of 15. The winning team will battle Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2023 trophy on Sunday 28 May.

Five-time winners Mumbai Indians are on top after defeating the Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator, but as they now face the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, the defending champions may well be considered favorites for Qualifier-2 of Friday.

Hardik Pandya’s side missed the first chance to reach the IPL final when they faced Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk and they are hoping that home advantage will work for them this time. They will also be heartened by the fact that they beat Mumbai Indians by 55 runs when the two teams met at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the league phase.
