FLINT – Tessa Slogor scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick Thursday to give Flushing a 1-0 victory over Davison in a Division 1 district soccer game.
Goalie Karsyn Farnsworth made the goal stand by pitching a shutout.
The Raiders will play Grand Blanc at 5:30 pm on May 31 for a spot in the championship game in Clarkston.
Oxford 4, Lapeer 3 (SO)
Morgan Wilcox scored twice for Lapeer, who conceded a goal from Anna Megie in a Division 1 matchup. Wilcox opened the scoring and then gave the Lightning a 3-2 lead in second overtime before Oxford forced the penalty kick competition.
Fenton Lake 8, Owosso 0
Lily Usher made 15 saves in goal for Owosso to finish her career with an MHSAA record 773 saves. Lake Fenton will play Kearsley on May 30 for a spot in the Division 2 championship game at Clio.

Flushing splits from Brighton
Braden Slogor pitched a six-hitter with five strikeouts Thursday to give Flushing’s baseball team a division with a 4-1 nightcap victory against Brighton.
Brayden Jones and Coleman Brandow had two hits for the Raiders.
In the opener, Peyton Gillean allowed and struck out five in Flushing’s 2-1 loss. Jones and Gillean had two hits for the Raiders.
New Lothrop separates from Durand
Ty Kuhlmann and Joseph Torres each had two hits for New Lothrop in a 7-5 loss in the eight-inning opener.
New Lothrop won the second game 14-4 behind three hits and five stolen bases by Kohlmann. Winning pitcher Torres allowed three hits in four innings.
Grand Blanc splits SVL twinbill
Grand Blanc beat Bay City Western 6-2 in the first game before losing the last cup 2-0.
In the first game, Chace Hunt had three hits for the Bobcats, who got two RBIs from Austin Gougeon. Winning pitcher Chris Worley allowed one hit, four walks and struck out eight in 4.1 innings.
In the second game, pitcher Jacob Story allowed three hits and a walk in four innings of a 2-0 loss.
SOFTBALL
Owosso sweeps New Lothrop
The Trojans won the opener 5-1 behind pitcher Danica Dwyer, who allowed five hits, walked three and struck out six. Reese Thayer led Owosso with two hits and three RBIs. Julianna Loomis also had two hits for Owosso.
Owosso won the cup 8-7 in eight innings. Dwyer got the last two outs to save himself. Lexi Hemker had three hits to lead the Trojans, who got two each from Jamie Maier and Sydney Somers.
LakeVille sweeps the town of Brown
Freshman Zoe Swank struck out 11 in the 13-9 opener while adding two hits herself. Larissa Gibson and Anabell Newbery each had three hits for the Falcons. Newbery had four RBIs and Natalie Littleton had two.
In the 14-3 night game, Jayla Thompson had four hits and three RBIs for LakeVille, Swank had two hits, and Gibson had two RBIs.
