A Florida woman is selling her Lake Norman waterfront mansion “summer home” for $7 million.

Every year, to escape the Florida summer heat, Gail Temianka spends four months at the 20927 Bethelwood Lane mansion in Cornelius, Ben Bowen of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty told The Charlotte Observer on Friday.

“This is a second home for her,” Ben Bowen of Premier Sotheby's International Realty said of the mansion's owner.

Bowen, who works in the Lake Norman-Cornelius office, is the exclusive marketer for the 8,579-square-foot mansion.

Temianka has lived there since it was built in 2015, Mecklenburg County property records show. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home has an assessed value of $4.6 million in 2023, according to public records.

Patrick Joseph Distinctive Homes built the mansion.

“This is a second home for her,” Bowen said, adding that Temianka has an even fancier mansion in Florida.

12 foot ceilings, marble accents

The mansion has an open floor plan that connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The house has large windows that let in a lot of natural light and overlook a large pool and the lake.

A chef’s kitchen in the home includes a $10,000 backsplash, coffered ceiling, and Thermador appliances.

Sunsets can be viewed from a back deck and outdoor cabana that includes a kitchen, bathroom, and billiards room. The property also has a hot tub, outdoor bar, fire pit, and dock.

Florida waterfront mansion

Temianka was out of the country Friday and could not be reached, Bowen said. The Observer tried the only phone number listed for her in public records and is not accepting messages.

Temianka, 72, lives in a waterfront mansion in Holmes Beach, Florida, which is located on Anna Maria Island off the Gulf Coast near Brandenton, public records show.

Her late grandfather was the famous early 20th century violinist Henri Temianka, according to public records. The Carnegie Hall performer conducted the Paganini Quartet and the California Chamber Symphony.

NASCAR neighbors

Temianka’s neighbors Cornelius have included some famous NASCAR names.

Hall of Fame driver Jeff Gordon lived in a mansion on Bethelwood Lane with his ex-wife Brooke Sealey, Bowen said.

His fellow Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace and his family also owned a mansion in Bethelwood.

In its marketing materials for Temianka’s house, Premier Sotheby’s calls Bethelwood Lane “a coveted NASCAR enclave.”

“This is an extraordinary opportunity to own an exquisite waterfront Lake Norman home in a select location revered by NASCAR’s finest,” according to a Premier Sotheby’s press release on Friday.
