Everything we know about the sequel

Although the superhero industry (and honestly, the entire movie industry in general) is dominated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that hasn’t stopped others from jumping into the ring. One of the biggest examples of this is Sony, which has owned the rights to one of Marvel’s most popular characters, Spider-Man, since the original 2002 movie. They’ve primarily focused on their own universe of villains, currently presenting the first two. Poison movies, and with solo movies for kraven the hunter (2023) and the dead (2024) in project. However, there’s another major Sony movie that no one really saw coming, and it went on to make Marvel history as the first Marvel Comics adaptation to receive a coveted Academy Award. that movie was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), which surpassed ralph breaks the internet (2018) and incredibles 2 (2018) to the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in a historic setback.

That’s for a good reason, like In the Spider-Verse is almost universally regarded as a masterful big screen animated debut for fan-favorite comic book character Miles Morales (Shameik Moore). With the high-quality ingredients of an innovative art style, fleshed out characters, an emotionally compelling narrative, and more, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse it’s not just a great Spiderman movie, arguably the best Spiderman movie ever made. Now fans will be able to return to the Spider-Verse with Miles and friends with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), the second installment in what is now a planned trilogy.

The highly anticipated sequel already shows fans more of what they wanted to see, mainly other universes we didn’t get to see in the last movie. Now we’ll see not one, not two, but six different universes in the film, each with their own distinctive art style, as Miles and his gang of interdimensional Spideys come together to take on a new threat. The first trailer gives us our first look at the return to this incredible animated multiverse, albeit with outdated information. Her relaxation is interrupted by the return of Spider-Gwen (hailee steinfeld) through another interdimensional portal. Miles is nervous and surprised to see his crush from another dimension after his latest adventure, and Gwen doesn’t explain how or why she’s returned, instead inviting “New York’s Only Spider-Man” for a ride. by the city.

Suddenly, we see Miles in his own spider suit falling into new dimensions, again each with their own distinctive art style. As he is literally falling through the multiverse, he is interrupted by Spider-Man 2099 (oscar isaac), who debuted in the preview of the end credits of In the Spider-Verse. Unlike the other Spider-Men Miles has met, this one seems to be a bit more hostile, getting into a fight before the teaser cuts to a title card.
