Disney & Marvel Games Showcase 2022 was the first presentation of these titans of entertainment that focused solely on their line of video games. And with such big names involved, expectations were pretty high. This was also supported by a large amount of rumors surrounding the event, further amplifying the hype. But could he really fulfill the event? Let’s take a look at all the games and ads we saw on display.

Disney & Marvel Games Showcase 2022: Everything we saw

After many rumours, speculation was hot as to what might be in this showcase. Here are our highlights of what we saw at the show.

Black Panther and Captain America game from Uncharted co-creator Amy Hennig

The definite highlight of the show was the reveal of the new Marvel-themed game from Amy Hennig and Skydance New Media. As confirmed before by leaks., the game will be set in World War II and will focus on Black Panther and Captain America. While the identity of the game has finally been confirmed, we are still missing a few key details, including the title, genre, and release date.

We know there will be multiple locations, including Paris and Wakanda, as well as four playable characters:

  • A young Steve Rogers, aka Captain America
  • Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and Black Panther from World War II
  • Gabriel Jones, American soldier and member of the Howling Commandos
  • Nanali, leader of the fledgling Wakandan espionage network

That is all. We are still waiting for more information or even a demo of the game. But that might still have to wait a while.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Gets a Final Release Date

We were a little worried about Midnight Suns, the Marvel superhero game from the creators of XCom. It looked really cool in the previews and trailers and we’re really excited to play it. But after multiple delays, the last one left the game without a concrete new release date. However, only a month later we finally got one, as it was confirmed that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on December 2.

other announcements

The presentation wasn’t very long, but we did get a number of more announcements and presentations on a smaller scale. Here are some of our highlights:

  • Disney Illusion Island, a cooperative adventure game for Nintendo Switch featuring Mickey Mouse and his friends, has been announced. Coming soon in 2023.
  • Tron: Identity is a new visual novel from famous indie developer Bithell Games.
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley is getting a Toy Story kingdom later this year
  • Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is getting a new Galactic Edition with character packs.

There were presentations of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Return of Monkey Island, Alien: Dark Descent and more. Overall, it was a short and somewhat disappointing show. Fans speculated and waited for news from Insomniac Games about Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine, but nothing. We’ll probably have to wait for next playstation showcase to see them in action.
