Disney Dreamlight Valley offers plenty of friendships to develop with classic Disney and Pixar characters, but there are a variety of other creatures that want your attention, or more specifically, your food. Scattered around each of the biomes in the game are creatures that you can feed, and doing so will net you rewards like cosmetic items and Dream Shards. However, each critter is a little different, as they all have a particular method of keeping them still and a favorite food that will offer better rewards. Here is all that information in one place for you.
How to approach each critter and what to feed them
squirrels
The squirrels are in the Square. Unlike some animals in later biomes, these little critters will generally run to you and wait for you to feed them when they get hungry.
Favorite food: Misery
rabbits
The rabbits are in the peaceful meadow. When they are interested in food, they will move away from you a bit and jump around. Follow them and you will notice that they run away and do it again. Keep following them and let them bounce three times and they will finally allow you to feed them at the fourth stop.
Favorite food: carrots
sea turtles
Sea turtles are found in dazzling beach. If they are hungry, you can approach them, at which point they will hide inside their shell. Just stay there briefly until they come back out and allow you to feed them.
Favorite food: Seaweed
raccoons
Raccoons are found in the Forest of Valor. These critters move fast and are hard to follow, but when they’re hungry, they’ll sit in one spot and watch you from afar. This is your chance to approach them quietly and slowly, only walking forward when they seem relaxed. If he keeps his head up and looks around cautiously, he will run away from you again. Eventually, you’ll get close enough to be prompted to feed the little critters.
Favorite food: blueberries
crocodiles
Crocodiles are found in the Sure Trust. They sneak around a lot, but just like raccoons, they’ll stop and watch you from afar when they’re hungry. When you see them standing and looking around cautiously, that’s your signal. Slowly move toward them when their heads are down, then stop as soon as they start looking around again. Eventually, they will drop to the ground and wait for some food.
Favorite food: Lobster
Sunbirds are found in sunlit plateau. They quickly flit around the area, but it doesn’t take anything special to get close to them, as long as you can keep up with them.
Favorite food: At the time of this writing, Orange Houseleek counted as a favorite food for one Sunbird but not another. We are still testing this.
foxes
The foxes are in icy heights. They are social creatures when they are hungry, so they will run to you and bark at you to follow them. Chase them wherever they lead long enough and they will eventually allow you to give them something to eat.
Favorite food: white sturgeon
ravens
The ravens are in the forgotten lands. Despite going up to the area and looking around, we still haven’t found any.
Favorite food: We have not yet found the favorite food of this animal.
