DC celebrates Batman Day with free comics and full-length podcast

DC celebrates Batman Day by offering free comics to fans and releasing the first season of Batman: The Audio Adventures on all podcast platforms.

DC is celebrating Batman Day later this month by releasing free comics and the entirety of batman: adventures audio‘ First Station.

On September 17, DC will celebrate Batman Day by offering free comics to fans at participating comic book stores. Available titles include Batman: Hush #1 Batman Day Special by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Jim Lee and Batman’s Mystery Casebook Batman Day Special Edition by writer Sholly Fisch and artist Christopher Uminga.

Batman: Hush #1 Batman Day Special celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iconic 2002 “Hush” storyline. The synopsis reads: “In honor of Batman Day, DC presents a special edition of 2002’s bat Man #608, the first chapter of Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s seminal 12-part mystery spanning Gotham City and the Dark Knight’s greatest foes! Who is Hush? And why does he want to get revenge on Bruce Wayne? It all starts here.” To further celebrate the anniversary, DC will release a new Batman: Hush 20th Anniversary Edition hardcover this October, which collects bat Man #608-619 and a history of Wizard #0.


Batman’s Mystery Casebook Batman Day Special Edition features a preview of Fisch and Uminga’s new graphic novel for middle grade readers ages 8-12. the synopsis of Batman mystery case book says, “Batman is a great detective, but he rarely works alone. His sidekicks Robin and Batgirl, his butler Alfred, and the Gotham City Police all play a big role in helping him keep his city safe. So can you! Look for clues!” Analyze evidence! Solve riddles! Learn history! Help Batman on his adventures and see if you can find the answers to these mysteries before he records them in his casebook.”

To further celebrate Batman Day, DC has also released the first season of batman: adventures audio on all podcast platforms. Previously available exclusively on HBO Max, Batman: The Audio Adventures is written and directed by Dennis McNicholas and features a vocal cast that includes the batmanis Jeffrey Wright, boba fett bookby Rosario Dawson Appearfrom John Leguizamo, Seth Meyers, Chris Parnell, Bobby Moynihan and more. The story follows Batman after he decides to hang up his cape and cowl and become an employee of Gotham City, while some of his worst villains are hatching his own sinister plans.


batman: adventures audio has been renewed for a second season, set to premiere later this fall. DC has also announced a batman: adventures audio is getting a limited series comic tie-in from Anthony Marques and Dennis McNicholas, which releases on September 27.
