PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has proposed a “Hybrid Model” in which it is intended to host four games in his country. Pakistan is hosting the Asian Cup this year, but the Indian cricket team is not allowed to visit the neighboring nation without the approval of the central government.

ACC insiders have told us that Sethi’s ‘hybrid model’, which would see India play all its games at neutral sites while Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka play four preliminary matches in Pakistan, looks like a viable alternative. However, the ACC has not officially stated this.

The PCB wants the UAE to be the neutral venue for the 2023 Asia Cup:

The PCB wants the United Arab Emirates to be the neutral venue for the 2023 Asia Cup because it ensures that the gate money goes to them. Dambulla and Pallekele in Sri Lanka, on the other hand, could be called neutral sites. The two India-Pakistan matches will also be played in Sri Lanka, despite the PCB’s preference for Dubai.

“ACC chief Jay Shah will call a meeting of the executive body where a formal announcement will be made. The PCB doesn’t mind playing India at a neutral venue. While they would prefer Dubai as it would generate more gate revenue, they are open to playing in another country (read Sri Lanka) as long as the ACC matches the gate revenue amount (0.5 million USD) than Sri Lanka Cricket. (SLC) received in 2022 from the Indo-Pak games in Dubai”, an ACC source familiar with the development told PTI on condition of anonymity.

It is clear that neither BCCI, ICC nor the host broadcasters will support an India-Pakistan World Cup match to be held in Bangladesh, despite PCB’s insistence that hosting the World Cup in India is subject to the approval of the government and should be dealt with separately from the organization of the Asian Cup. rights.
