Arredondo Guides’ Cats to Game One Win, Nighthawks Take Game Two

NAMPA Idaho – Central Washington Baseball split its two games against Northwest Nazarene on Saturday. ryan arredondo he guided the ‘Cats to a 7-2 victory in the first game. In the second game, the Nighthawks scored in the bottom of the seventh for a 6-5 win.

QUOTING HEAD COACH DESI STOREY
“In the first game, I thought we played to our skills. Dondo did a great job, staying low in the zone, landing off-speed and controlling the game. We turned a couple of double plays. We had some clutch hits late in the game. That’s the kind of game we’re capable of always doing if we play that way.”

“In the second game, Reid was doing a good job throwing strikes when we needed him too. We took the lead, then we hit a guy and walked him to lead off the inning. Two guys with no outs and we got out of it, but he gave up front”.

Added Storey: “The dropped ball hurts, give credit to his boy, with two strikes he cuts it and puts it in play. He jumps on Love’s head and the game is over. We just need to be consistent and play the way we can.”
