As seen in the trailer for “To Leslie,” the film follows the story of a woman who wins the lottery and is excited to discover how her life-changing money will help her and her family. Unfortunately, she’s an alcoholic and, unsurprisingly, money doesn’t change her life for the better. She just adds to the terrible cycle that she is experiencing. The cast includes Andrea Riseborough, Allison Janney, Marc Maron, Andre Royo, Owen Teague, Stephen Root, James Landry Hebert, Matt Lauria, Y jean catfish. “For Leslie” is directed by michael morriswho is probably best known for his television work on projects like “Shameless,” “Preacher,” Y “Better call Saul.” This marks the film debut of him.

In our review of “To Leslie,” we were surprised by Riseborough’s latest performance, saying, “Riseborough is on fire, as usual; she nails the wild mood swings, the space, the sadness of this character, while also pointing out the most necessary element of the film’s great drunken performances: that it’s not about ‘acting drunk’, it’s about trying act sober and fail. It’s a role full of opportunities to chew scenarios and melodramatically fall apart, but she never strikes a false note; She watches the way she says ‘Okay’ to a potential boyfriend at a key moment, and how she immediately understands that it’s something she’s probably said countless times, and that she never really meant.”

Here is the synopsis:
Leslie is a single mother from West Texas struggling to support her son when he wins the lottery and gets a chance at a good life. But a few years later, the money is gone and Leslie is alone, living hard and fast at the bottom of a bottle as she flees the world of heartbreak she left behind. With her charm wearing thin on her and with nowhere to go, Leslie returns home. Sweeney, a lonely motel clerk unwelcome and undesired by those she wrongs, takes a chance when no one else will. With her encouragement, Leslie comes face to face with the consequences of her actions, a life of regret and a second chance to make a good life for herself and her child.
