WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, as part of its initiative under the Center for Equal Law, America First Legal (AFL) asked the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to open a civil rights investigation against Alaska Air, Inc., for engaging in illegal activities and recruitment practices.
The publicly traded corporation has openly declared its commitment to racial equity in its operations, which illegally limits, segregates and/or classifies job applicants based on race, a flagrant violation of Title VII of the Human Rights Act. 1964 civilians:

In its most recent 10-K filing, Alaska Air states that it is “committed to advancing equity in all its forms, and has[s] set specific, measurable goals to meet our commitments to racial equity and diversity by 2025,” and that a primary goal is to “increase racial diversity in our leadership team.”

As part of that long-term strategy, Alaska Air has stated that by 2025 it would “increase [the] the company’s ‘Scot Index of Inclusion’ by 10 points, and would “increase racial diversity at all levels to at least 30%.” Since its announcement in 2021, Alaska Air has openly and proudly displayed on its website the progress it has made in using illegal hiring, training, and promotion preferences to meet its racial equity goals.

The AFL has separately called on President, CEO and Director Ben Minicucci to immediately cease and desist all employment practices that discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin.
The hateful and illegal practice of hiring based on immutable characteristics like race is a flagrant attack on civil rights that harms all Americans. Under the guise of “fairness”, far-left corporations openly discriminate against people and are never held to account. However, America First Legal is determined to hold these companies accountable and will not stop pursuing equal opportunity for all Americans.
Statement from Ian Prior, America First Legal: Senior Counsel
“It must shock the conscience that Alaska Air, one of the largest airlines in the United States, is prioritizing “racial and gender equity” in its hiring over choosing the best men and women for the job. A system that focuses on immutable characteristics of merit and equal opportunity perpetuates systemic discrimination and is anathema to all we stand for as a nation that values equal opportunity, regardless of race, gender, religion, or nationality. national origin. America First Legal will continue to hold large companies accountable for engaging in such discriminatory conduct.” Ian Prior said.
