With summer (unofficially) over and the Halloween season now in full swing, these weekly recaps are about to be packed with new horrors both at home and in theaters!
Eight new horror movies will be released in this first full week of September, and trust me when I say that even that makes for a quiet week compared to what’s coming soon.

Shudder brings the long-awaited and award-winning Shudder Original Saloum to its streaming service this Thursday, September 8, a Senegalese horror movie.
The film, written and directed by Jean-Luc Herbulot (Distributor), was a featured release for Midnight Madness at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, before playing Fantastic Fest 2021, the Red Sea International Film Festival, the Sydney Film Festival, and the Vancouver International Film Festival of 2021.
In SaloumDowned after hit-and-run and taking out a Guinea-Bissau drug lord, the legendary mercenaries known as the Bangui Hyenas (Chaka, Rafa, and Midnight) must hide their loot of stolen gold, lying low long enough to repair and refuel his plane and escape back to Dakar, Senegal. When they take refuge in a holiday camp in the coastal region of Sine-Saloum, they do their best to mingle with their fellow travelers; including a mute named Awa, with her own secrets of her own, and a policeman who may be after them, but it’s Chaka who hides the darkest secret of all. Unbeknownst to the other hyenas, he brought them there for a reason and once his past catches up with him, his decisions have devastating consequences and threaten to unleash hell on them all.

adrienne king survived Mrs. Voorhees in the original Friday the 13th and she will make her return to horror in The dead girl in apartment 03available on Digital this Thursday.

This week’s biggest release is the horror movie Unhinged. Barbarian, which has been earning rave reviews. 20th Century and New Regency will bring it to theaters on September 9.
In Barbariana young woman (georgina campbell) traveling to Detroit for a job interview books a rental house. But when he arrives late at night, she discovers that the house is double occupied and a strange man (bill skarsgard) is already staying there.
Against his better judgment, he decides to spend the night, but soon discovers that there is much more to fear than an unexpected guest.
Written and directed by Zach Creggerthe film also stars justin long, Matthew Patrick Davis, Richard Brake, Kurt Braunohler Y butler jaymes.
After its premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival, Saban Films will enter the house of darkness in limited theaters on September 9, 2022 and on VOD platforms on September 13.
Drag Me to Hell Y Canine‘s justin long Y kate bosworth (Black Rock, before I wake up) both star in this seductive thriller from director neil labute (the wicker man).

The trailer spills the beans on house of darkness being a “reinvention” of the classic horror tale by Bram Stoker draculawhich is something that was not spoiled by previous marketing.

Director steven c miller (Silent night, first murder, escape plan 2) returns to the horror genre with his next film, titled Margaux and it’s coming this Friday from Paramount.
The film will be available on digital media.
