Happy Halloween season! It’s once again the most wonderful time of the year, with the end of summer this week ushering in spooky season. And it should surprise no one that the horror has planned accordingly; this fall brings a lineup packed with genre offerings.
Fall is peak horror season, of course, and the 2022 release slate ensures that no Halloween horror watchlist will go empty this year. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come in the coming months, so stay tuned for updates and more in the coming weeks.

A Danish family visits a Dutch family they met on vacation. They try to maintain courtesy as the weekend gets increasingly awkward.
Good night mom – September 16 (Prime Video)
A remake of the 2014 horror film by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. The twin brothers do not recognize their mother’s bandaged face when they arrive at their country house. The erratic behavior soon convinces them that she is not even their mother.
Pearl – September 16 (Theaters)
Mia Goth reprises her role as Pearl in this Ti West prequel X. She sees Pearl as a farm girl with star ambition and a murderous short fuse on her youth.
when the screaming starts – September 20 (Screambox)
An aspiring documentarian thinks he’s finally found the perfect subject with would-be serial killer Aidan Mendle. But when Aidan and his newly recruited assassin cult embark on a blood-soaked rampage, Norman’s dream of becoming a renowned documentarian turns into a nightmare.
do not worry honey – September 23 (Theaters)
Florence Pugh plays a 1950s housewife who lives with her husband in a utopian experimental community. As the cracks begin to show in idyllic perfection, she suspects something much more sinister is at work.
the monsters – September 27 (Netflix, Blu-ray, VOD)
Rob Zombie reinvents the monsters in a cute encounter between Lily and Herman. Their courtship will take them from Transylvania to Hollywood.
exorcism of my best friend – September 30 (Prime Video)
In this 1980s adaptation of the Grady Hendrix novel, two best friends clash when one begins to behave cruelly. The other soon suspects that demonic possession may be to blame.
Hocus Pocus 2 – September 30 (Disney+)
The Sanderson sisters are back and they want revenge. It’s up to a trio of high school students to stop them on Halloween.
Smile – September 30 (Theaters)
Dr. Rose Cotter begins to experience horrifying events after witnessing a traumatic event at work. Creepy smiles follow her everywhere.
dead stream – October 6 (Shudder)
A disgraced and demonetized internet personality tries to win back his fans and patrons with a Livestream event where he spends the night in a haunted house. What can go wrong? All.
scary 2 – October 6 (Theaters)
Arte the Clown is back! This time he is targeting a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night. It’s going to be incredibly violent and messy, and it’s coming to theaters, unrated by the MPA! – from Bloody Disgusting, Cinedigm and SCREAMBOX.
hellraiser – October 7 (Hulu)
David Bruckner has those sights to show us with this new twist on the Clive Barker classic. “A young woman must confront the sadistic and supernatural forces behind an enigmatic puzzle box responsible for the disappearance of her brother.” Jamie Clayton plays the Priest of Hell.

the nightmare before christmas Y coralline director henry selick returns this October with a new stop-motion film. The exact date has yet to be set, so stay tuned. Key Keegan-Michael and Jordan Peele star in a story of “the hellishly funny demons of a teenage girl named Kat.”
something in the dirt – November 4 (VOD)
The latest from Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead sees them star as neighbors who witness supernatural events in their apartment building. Deciding to document it for the sake of fame sends them down the rabbit hole.

A young couple travels to a remote island for a luxurious dining experience, only to discover something much stranger on the menu.
bones and all – November 23 (Theaters)
